Composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Lyon, founding member of the bands NED, THE RUBIKS, TOTALE ECLIPSE, and SATHÖNAY, Nicolas Poisson also writes music for film and theatre in styles ranging from contemporary to noise, rock to electroacoustic, and minimalist to orchestral. His music transcends genres and unfolds like an organic, cinematic journey, both fragile and epic.

He started playing the violin at six years old in a music school but abandoned it at 14 to teach himself the electric guitar, performing on stage from the age of 18. He then honed his skills in contemporary music at the National Music School of Villeurbanne, under the guidance of Gilles Laval. Nicolas Poisson performs frequently across Europe and North America. His music is released on the labels S.K Records, African Tape, Réjuvénation, Carton Records, and Zamzam Records.
